Accreditation
Pocoshock Animal Hospital is Accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. We have been accredited since 1980 and we have received AAHA's 4-year accreditation status, which is the highest or longest accreditation offered by AAHA.
AAHA is a voluntary organization of mostly small animal practitioners that adhere to the high practice standards set forth by the association. There are over 900 individual standards of care and protocols that animal hospitals must meet or exceed to obtain and retain their AAHA accreditation.
AAHA has been accrediting veterinary hospitals since 1933. Currently only about 17% of US veterinary hospitals have achieved AAHA Accreditation. Of the 80+ veterinary hospitals in the Richmond Metro area, only 12 are accredited.
